I am really surprised that I have 2 contemporary books on my top 10 this year.  I am not usually a fan of contemporary but I loved these books.

1) The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley
The Winter Sea (Slains, #1)

I couldn't pick my #1 favorite book of the year so I picked 2!  Both books stayed with me for a long time after I read them.  Loved those books.  I also read the Firebird by Susanna Kearsley this year and loved it.  It is a sequel to The Winter Sea.

Top Ten Books on my Fall TBR List

The books on my Fall TBR list aren't necessarily all new releases.  Just books that I am really excited about reading and haven't got to yet.  My List is in no particular order.

The Judas Strain by James Rollins

This is book #4 in the Sigma Force series by James Rollins.  I started reading these books at a recommendation of a friend who said he was their favorite author.  I really loved the first book of this series, Sandstorm.

Sandstorm was a fun ride and I enjoyed in thoroughly.  However, as the series progresses, I am not sure that I am enjoying it anymore.  The stories are a bit far fetched for me and I find myself wondering why I am reading it the whole time.  Maybe just not my style of book right now.  I may continue the series later but I am not sure right now.  I hate starting a series and not finishing it, but....if I am not enjoying it, why continue.  We'll see....

The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain

I just finished The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain.

This was the Book of the Month for my GoodReads group.  This book has been on my to-be read (TBR) shelf for over a year now but I am just getting to it now.

It was a quick read and it held my attention.  This is the second book that I have read by Diane Chamberlain.  Last year, I read The Midwife's Confession and I enjoyed that book as well.  I like her style of writing and I find I get hooked onto the characters right away.  Overall, I enjoyed this book.  I would definitely read another one of her books again.

Matched & Crossed by Ally Condie

I just finished reading "Matched" and "Crossed" by Ally Condie.

They are books #1 and #2 in a trilogy.  It is a series of Young Adult (YA) books set in a dystopian world.  I was looking for a light read and the cover of the books drew me in.  I found Matched a little slow going at first and it took my mind a while to get into the mindset of the dystopian world.  However, by book #2, Crossed, I was vested in the main characters, Cassia, Ky, & Zander and I was eagerly following along wondering where the story was headed.  They were not my favorite books by any means, but, overall, I did enjoy them. Book #3, Reached, is being released in November 2012 and I plan on finishing the trilogy when it is released.
